Neville Richardson former Co-op bank CEO joins Seddon Group as non-executive director


Neville Richardson, former chief executive officer of Co-operative Financial Services, has today been appointed by the Seddon Group, one of the UK’s major privately owned construction companies, as a non-executive director. The Group’s painting and maintenance specialist business Seddon Property Services has its national headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent.

Mr Richardson was also deputy chief executive of the Co-operative Group, the UK’s largest mutual business, before stepping down in mid-2011.

He joined the Co-operative Group in August 2009 when Co-operative Financial Services (CFS) merged with Britannia Building Society of which he was chief executive, and led the successful integration of Britannia with CFS. Before joining the Board of Britannia in 1998, he was a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) for 21 years.

Mr Richardson is also a non-executive director of Marks and Spencer Financial Services plc and is a member of the Board of Governors of the University of Manchester.

The Seddon Group is a family-owned company specialising in building, painting and maintenance, homes for sale and plant and engineering services with a national turnover of some £300 million.
