Commercial Express appoints two new key employees as part of year of growth

It has been a year of growth so far for West Midlands based MGA, Commercial Express.

Alongside celebrations for the insurance provider’s 20th birthday, the company has expanded and taken on more key members of staff.

Mark Humphreys has been appointed as a senior technical underwriter and Helen Holyoake has joined as head of risk and compliance. Both are based at the MGA’s headquarters in Brierley Hill.

With 16 years of insurance industry experience, Mark is a welcome addition to the technical underwriting team. His previous roles have included underwriting development specialist at Legal & general and household underwriting manager for both Canopius and KGM.

Mark said: “My role at Commercial Express includes product development and review, account analysis and underwriting support to the wider business.

“I wanted to work for the company because of its great reputation. There is a lot of potential for growth and I wanted to bring my expertise and experience to support this. I hope to also gain a better understanding of commercial lines.

“I am very happy to be a part of Commercial Express.”

Helen has a wealth of insurance experience, with 23 years in the industry on both personal lines and SME products. She has spent the last 10 years in risk and compliance roles, most recently working as a risk and compliance manager at Towergate Insurance.

Helen said: “I was drawn to the Commercial Express vision to grow as a business, and I knew it was a company where I felt I could add value.

“My responsibilities are to ensure that the business is fully complying with all regulation and that risks facing the business are identified and managed effectively. Regulation is ever-changing, so I’m looking forward to working with all areas of the business to maintain compliance and embed any future changes that are on the horizon.”

Commercial Express is an MGA based in the West Midlands but covers the whole of the UK.
